The Carbon Connect Delta programme aims to capture, transport and store CO2 emissions underground in the cross-border region using Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). CCS infrastructure is necessary within the Scheldt Delta region in order to achieve the short- and long-term climate targets for industry. The application of CCS is also crucial within the hydrogen transition path. In the Scheldt Delta region, the development of the CCS system is the first step towards a CO2-neutral and circular industry.
